A lot of things have been happening–mostly related to the changing of seasons and getting ready for school.
Haven started full time preschool September 3. It’s tradition here for students to dress “smartly” in dark bottoms and a nice white top for the first day of school. After I picked her up, we grabbed some lody (ice cream) from the grocery store across the street.
Walking her to her preschool today, she saw kids of all ages (K-12) dressed like her, go to different schools around the area, and she felt so grown up! For those of you concerned about my 3-year-old, the preschool she is attending is excellent and right around the corner. She’s loves it there, and it’s perfect for her specific personality. Natural light floods the rooms from windows on all sides of the building. It’s a bilingual school, so the other kids are working on learning English. Haven is working on Polish. Movement and songs and play are a major part of what they do. Ballet/gymnastics is part of the curriculum. And they have a full time chef and two full time cooks who make first and second breakfast, first and second lunch, and afternoon tea completely from scratch. The chef and cooks wave to Haven whenever she passes their window. They even make the kids vegetable/fruit smoothies from scratch. As I was leaving, they were receiving a delivery from the grocery store across the street–an entire cart full of carrots and lettuce and cabbage and other veggies (I’ve never seen that in the U.S.). Haven’s teacher “Auntie Asia” is incredibly kind and loving. I want to go to that school, don’t you?
