Venice and Back to Poland – 23 February, 2019

Having arrived by train from Rome, Venice greeted us with a city-wide party. Unbeknownst to is, we had stumbled upon Carnival.

After meeting up with my cousin and his family, they showed us some of their favorite places. Annora joined in and bought a mask and hat!

Carnival was fun and weird and crazy and crowded. We’d go again in a heartbeat!

At dusk, we started walking back to the train station to catch our overnight train back to Germany and then (after a few switches) Poland.

There was a bit of a wait.

The train cabin we reserved was pretty cool. Let me tell you, you’ve not lived until you’ve tried taking a shower in a moving train. 😅

Bunk beds and a private bath–with shower! We were livin’ the high life!
